I don’t know why your employees are disengaged? Do you? What have you done to find out?

I do know what some of the typical reasons are:

  • They are tired of doing two people’s jobs.
  • They are tired of being expected to do more with less and then still more with even less.
  • They are tired of hearing about executive pay increases and million dollar salaries.
  • They are tired of being treated like children. For example – no telecommuting because if I can’t see you I don’t know if you’re really working.
  • Long hours with little or no appreciation.
  • The pervasive attitude that employees are just an asset, one is as good as another.
  • Lack of clarity as to where the company is headed and the importance of their role in getting there.

Want to do something to disengage your employees even more? Spend the time and money to find out why they are disengaged and then don’t do anything to change it.
