When you promise exceptional customer service or the highest value products, or claim that you’re the leader in your industry, are these claims with teeth behind them or are they empty promises? When you tell your employees you value education and that family is important, do you back these words up with actions?

It’s so easy to make all kinds of claims, the challenge is to back them up with consistent actions and then verify that the actions you’re taking are being understood the way you intend for them to be understood.

How often have you said “that’s not what I meant” when you’ve had a conversation with someone close to you?  Unverified communications can lead you down a path you weren’t planning on going.

Reach out to your clients, your employees – everyone and anyone you touch and see if what you are saying is being received the way you intend it to be received, and if your actions are consistent with what you are saying is important.

Having all three of those: saying, doing and receiving in alignment is key to the growth and success of your company.
