008You’ve created your vision.  All the strategy and planning is done.  You know what to do, so what’s next?  It’s now time to share all of this, in order to ensure that everyone is going in the same direction.

Going in the same direction doesn’t always mean traversing a straight line towards the destination.  There may be hills and valleys that need to be conquered.  Your role as the leader is to ensure that everyone is going in the same direction towards the same vision.

Think about a flock of geese flying in a V formation.  The lead bird is out in front and everyone else falls in behind.  It may not always be a neat and orderly V, yet the flock continues to go in the direction that the leader takes them.

While we still don’t know how geese do this; we do know what it takes for an organization to accomplish this. Two very important steps to insuring that your organization goes in the same direction come from you.  First is your clarity, where are you going and what are you creating and second is your willingness and ability to consistently share your vision with everyone.  Start with these two steps, then watch your team line up to follow you… all going in the same direction.
