The trees or the forest
There is never enough time, enough money or enough whatever to do all that you to do. This is why clarity, focus, release and goals is so important.

You need to know where you’re going what you want to do first. Yes, it’s a challenge to choose something because inevitably that means you can’t do something else. This is why having clarity is so important, if you want to get to the moon you’re not going to focus on underwater exploration, even if that’s something you’re also interested in.

Once you’re clear about what your goal is then you can focus on what you need to do to accomplish it. You can ask yourself, “Is this going to help me get there?” If it’s not then you don’t need do that. The challenge comes when there are multiple activities that will help you get there.

When you have multiple activities to do you have a couple of choices. First you can delegate it to someone else, next you can decide not to do it or you can delay doing it.

When you’re in this position you need to be ruthlessly honest in asking if this is required and does it need to done at this time. Of course the size of your organization is going to determine how big your focus can be, though at some point you reach the limit of how much everyone can do.
Go for what you want with the clarity that you know what you are creating so that you spend your time and money working towards vision, not all the other cool things that it’s so easy to get caught up doing, and then one day you look up and realize you’re not where you wanted to be and your not even sure how you got there.
