I just finishedPhoto by Jane Lova leading the quarterly Sage Grow Your Business Focus Day where everyone spent the day working on their business. What a great day we had, so much energy and excitement as each participant shared what they are creating and what was holding them back. The conversations and sharing are so helpful to everyone. One of the themes of the program is how do I grow my business.

For this reason on of the main activities for the day is to determine and articulate your One Focus for the next 90 days.

If you’re a solopreneur or small business owner hyper focusing on one outcome can create massive movement towards growth.  So often we want to focus on this and this and that and what happens? Nothing gets accomplished in a way that really moves you forward.

Focusing in on one thing can be a challenge for most of us. In Sage you’re asked to narrow your focus to one outcome and then determine what sales, marketing and structural support you need to create and put in place to reach this outcome.

I realize that there are other activities and actions that you’ll be working on.  What this is about is keeping your eye on one outcome and asking yourself, “is doing this going to take me there?” “If not why am I doing it?”  Please be vigilant about asking yourself these questions and be very ruthless in answering why.

I’d like to provide you with the opportunity to spend the next 90 days doing this with us.  So I’m going to challenge you to pick one thing, one outcome that will move you forward and focus on it for the next 90 days. Let’s see what happens to your business when you are hyper focused.

Here are 3 steps we go through to create our 90 Day Focus and plans.

  1. Picture your business 90 days from now.  What one thing would make a difference and create movement towards your vision. Do you have a program you want to start or fill?  Would three new clients allow you to make another leap next quarter?  Would getting on TV or Radio help you increase your visibility?

As you create your 90 Day Focus next ask yourself how you are motivated?  Does a big audacious picture motivate you or does a much more realistic one do it for you? Use this when you describe your focus. Make it big and audacious or realistic depending on how you’re motivated.

  1. Once you have your 90 Day Focus, that one outcome, what sales quota will support you in reaching your outcome, what does your marketing campaign look like and what structure do you need to put in place?
  1. Finally write down the action steps that you’ll need to take to achieve you outcome, to make it your reality.

Once you’ve finished doing this please take a minute  and share your 90 Day Focus.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Over the next 90 days I’ll be sharing tips and ideas to support you on your 90 Day Focus journey.  If you haven’t signed up for my newsletter this is the perfect time to sign up so you don’t miss any of the articles containing tips.
