DSC_0097In all actuality the difference between a decision and a problem is very small.  Most of the time a problem is the precursor to a decision.  The challenge is when you think you have a problem that doesn’t have a decision or that you don’t have the choice to make a decision.  In these cases we often find ourselves in a downward spiraling mind game because we think we don’t have any options.  The truth is we always have options, we just might not like the options or we may not like the choices we think we have.

Once we get locked into these thoughts our mind begins to cycle through these and other negative self limiting thoughts:

– I don’t have any choices – I’m just …..

– No one understands

– I have no one to talk to

– What’s the use of talking about it

– I’m tired of complaining

– I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired

– It’s not working anymore

And then at some point maybe these thoughts begin to enter your consciousness

– I can’t do this myself

– I surrender – I need help

It’s when these thoughts begin to break through that you’re ready for an answer.

I’ve found that the more I’m wrapped up in the negative self limiting thoughts the harder it is for a new thought to enter.

When you find yourself in this spiral of limiting thoughts one of the best actions you can take is to talk to someone one who will listen and ask you some questions. It’s amazing how talking out loud to someone else can open you up to possibilities that you couldn’t see just a few minutes ago.
