375We’re in the home stretch to the end of the year.  Last week I wrote about slowing down and looking back to go faster.   I hope you did that.  I know how hard it is to stop and review what we’ve done.  When we don’t do that, when we are always focused on what’s next we miss a great opportunity to make leaps instead of just progressive steps.

Gather your team. Review what you’ve accomplished and what you still have to accomplish.  Then look at what you’ve learned.  This will come from what worked and just as important what didn’t work.  Remember those tests in school, especially the review ones, for all their pain the great thing they showed you was what you needed to study.  Well look that the goals you didn’t reach or the projects that didn’t turn out the way you thought as review tests.  Let them tell you what you need to work on so you can move forward.

As you walk through this process with an open mind soon you’ll be begin to see things differently, you’ll see what you might add or change in the process, what you didn’t know then will become obvious.  You’ll begin to see new relationships, new possibilities.  This only happens when you look at what you’ve done.  Otherwise you’re doomed to keep repeating the same mistakes and lose the opportunity to make those quantum leaps forward.
