For the last month I’ve been looking at what was going on in my life, really it was more like what wasn’t going on in my life. I finally realized there were all these old stories running through my mind that I knew were not true.  The problem was they had been running through my mind for so long that I wasn’t even hearing them anymore. Which is why it took so long to hear them! But they were still running my life!

What old stories are running through your mind? The ones you’re not hearing but that are still running your life?  That stories that say you can’t do this, or you’re not good enough or smart enough.

If you’ve stopped hearing them then how do you listen to them?

The first step is to STOP and say “I’m stuck.”

The second step is to say “I wonder what’s blocking me.”   This is the hard part, now you have to be quiet and listen.

The third step is to challenge yourself, “If I didn’t believe that, what would I be able to do?”

If you have a hard time with this, and I’ll share that I have a hard time challenging myself in this area, share it with someone else so you can’t hide from it.

Then see what happens as you no longer believe those old stories.
