This can be hard to follow even when you know its right. You have to glance back once in a while to see where you’ve been, what you done that worked and what didn’t work. The challenge is to glance back and instead of keeping your eye on what’s back there, which so often consist of the should haves and if onlys.
Those should haves and if onlys aren’t going to move you forward. It’s time to let them go. Once you reviewed them and captured what you needed to learn from them turn back around towards the future and look forward.
Right now that can be very hard with the virtual shut down of the economy, the fear around what is going to happen and how is it going to affect us. Remember the fear is almost always worse than the actuality of the event. In our anticipation of an event we tend to make the catastrophe bigger and bigger and then when it happens our response is “Well that wasn’t as bad as I expected!”
Take this time to look forward, imagine what could happen, both positive and negative, how will you respond, how will you drive towards the outcome you want? You don’t have to be a passive passenger on this train. Take charge, see your future and begin to implement what and where you can.
Keep looking forward and you’ll go forward.
